SMART RINGS
The prefix smart is often used in the world of technology. Another wearable device but a piece of smart wearable jewelry, a smart ring. Smart rings monitor and analyze actions and give the response it was programmed to do.

WORKING
Smart rings work on the principle of Near Field Communication. NFC is a wireless communication in short-range with a single tap. NFC is used in electronic gadgets, payment cards, chips, and other smart devices. The main principle is NFC and sensors inside the ring, which make it smart. Sensors such as gyroscopes, accelerometer are common in most of the smart devices. Another important technology used is Bluetooth to connect the ring to our smartphones.
ADVANTAGES
1. Most of us get tired of charging our smart gadgets and do not use them as often for the same reason. The small size makes the battery life last for 4–7 days.
2. They are available in different sizes. We can customize the size according to our needs.
3. They are excellent for sleep tracking because of their size. It helps us stay away from the blue light that affects our sleep quality if we keep checking it throughout the night.
DISADVANTAGES
Though it’s small, it is too bulky compared to a conventional ring. It comes with a lot of sensors embedded inside it. It is hard to find a size that fits us. We have to order it with specific dimensions and wait until the customized product arrives. These are not pocket-friendly options when we expect fitness tracking features.

APPLICATIONS
1. The prime application is to make payments with a tap. The payments for a minimum limit are done using these rings by just hovering them in payment terminals. Smart rings are used to control smartphones through gestures or get important alerts through vibrations in your fingers.
2. The commercial large-scale application where the smart rings would be used as a future of biometric authentication. It can be used as an alternate for smart keys or ID.
3. Smart rings are used to track sleep, count steps, measure distance, and calories burnt. By adding more sensors, it can serve as a fitness tracker without a display. The reports can be viewed on our smartphones.
FUTURE
This smart ring would be a common gadget in the future. The Smart rings would fascinate more and more people if we could use them as gesture control for our existing smart devices such as smartphones or to control our smart TV to pause, play, adjust volume, etc. Many companies are working on smart rings to revolutionize the world of technology.
